What is presentation in the new age post covid? I think we are in a situation where we have been forced to renegotiate the practicalities of a fashion runway show. Is it needed? If yes, what is it for? If no, what is an alternative answer for the purpose of a runway sow.

A runway is old and dated for the world we live in but maybe only old in its current style.

A completely digital show like the ones below are good for conveying concept and a very much hidden creative process to the general public. It allows people to truly see the makings of a collection, in the sense of Maison Margiela where we have the director communicating and verbalizing the concept. This is a powerful thing and even though the resulting collection is not what I personally liked, I appreciate the 'looking-glass' approach giving the audience an unparalleled look into the behind the scenes. But how many people outside of fashion care? If this sort of presentation loses its appeal to people who are only interested in the surface then is it an affection method of presentation.

Which brings the question, who is it for? A runway, presentation of any sort. Is it for people interested in fashion, and how deep of an interest?

I think it should be an avenue to explain what is done to everyone. It should be easy enough to grasp, talk about the genesis, the sun before everything around it like the actual final garments. But I also believe in seeing garments move, it adds a specific dimension missing from the videos below although the Maison Margiela presentation did showcase movement in the form of dance.
